Q. Do I need to be home for your services?
A. No. You do not need to be at home to have your cans cleaned. We clean your cans the day after your trash pickup. As long as your cans are on the curb, we'll clean them on your scheduled date.

Q. Why should I have my trash and recycle bins cleaned?
A. We not only clean your cans, but we disinfect, sanitize and deodorize them as well. We use water temps of approximately 200 degrees fahrenheit which rids them 99.9% of bacteria, germs, and viruses. Additionally, we spray down the outside of the can including the parts most often touched such as the lid and handle. Our state-of-the-art system effectively reduces health hazards such as Tuberculosis, Strep, staph, E-Coli, Salmonella & Listeria.

Q. Do you clean and sanitize both trash cans and recycle cans?
A. Yes. We recommend cleaning both types of cans, due to the bacteria, viruses, and germs that can build up on either type.

Q. What areas do you service?
A. The Can Is Clean provides trash can cleaning and sanitizing services to Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Bondurant, Clive, Des Moines, Granger, Grimes, Huxley, Johnston, Polk City, Slater, Urbandale, Waukee, and West Des Moines, Iowa. Please contact us for service if your location is not listed.

Q. What happens if I forget to place my bin on the curb or have waste in the bin on my day of service?
A. All Sales are Final and Non-Refundable. Garbage and Recycle Bins will need to be on the curb and empty from garbage for them to be serviced. In the event there is garbage in the bin Can Cleaners may remove the waste from the bin to perform the service. Determination of the amount of garbage and type that needs to be removed will determine if the service will be performed. This determination will be up to the driver at the time they arrive and will decide to either remove the waste and complete the service or will skip the service. If skipped due to waste in the bin the customer will still be charged 100% for the service. All garbage removed from the bin to perform the service will be placed back in the bin when completed. Can Cleaners is not a waste hauler and will not take garbage away. Should the customer not have their bin placed at the curb for service when Can Cleaners arrives we will allow a one time reschedule within that month to complete the service. If the bin is not placed on the curb for a 2nd time we will not be able to perform the service or offer another reschedule and the customer will still be charged for 100% of the service. Can Cleaners will allow one reschedule in the year. Should you have a conflict with the timing of the service for the time we are in your location for example: Not here due to a Vacation please contact us prior to the scheduled service for a reschedule.

Currently, due to the cold weather, we are not servicing customers from 12/1/23 – 2/29/24. We will begin servicing customers again in March of 2024.
